Gerhard has been at the heart of the global entertainment industry since 1986, with a career spanning film production, licensing, and distribution across Europe and beyond. Together with brand mastermind Joanna Adams, he has been a key driving force behind The Future is Wild™ since its inception — constantly pushing the brand to new boundaries and into new territories. 'The Future is Wild™ @ The Hillocks' marks the most exciting milestone yet in that never-ending journey of evolution.

Jeremy's family has lived in the Wakatipu for 5 generations. Originally farming locally, he went onto to develop one of the biggest vineyard wineries in the Otago region. As part of this vineyard development, which he helped develop and run, he also realised a major residential subdivision on the residual land. He brings invaluable experience and skills in business development, regulatory management, Resource Management including his local, cultural, historical knowledge and concerns for a sustainable NZ.

Georgina Robertson brings two decades of deep-rooted passion for Aotearoa New Zealand to her role as Director of Operations. Originally from the UK, New Zealand has long been home - and the history, conservation, and breathtaking natural environment of the Glenorchy region have been at the heart of everything she does here. A committed outdoors person with an infectious enthusiasm for New Zealand's unique flora and fauna, Georgie has spent years building relationships, sharing knowledge, and showing the world what makes this corner of the planet so extraordinary. At The Future is Wild @ The Hillocks, she is exactly where she belongs.

Before launching into a career spanning more than two decades in computer graphics and design, Karsten received an MSc in Biology and a PhD in Marine Science. His scientific training helps to plant his production of artwork firmly within the scientific community. During 26 years of full-time employment in the industry he has developed a thorough understanding of all the aspects of television production. Karsten worked in development, production and post-production as producer, editor, art director and VFX supervisor and artist for the world's leading broadcasters (Discovery, National Geographic, etc). His work experience and expertise in visual effects combined with thorough scientific training gives him a rare and valuable skill set in this field.

Dr Karsten Schneider

Thomas is a software developer and control systems engineer based in Dunedin, New Zealand. He specialises in designing robust software systems and real-time architectures, bridging low-level embedded code with complex physical hardware. His technical background covers motor control engineering, automated control systems, and networked multi-platform environments like immersive VR. Thomas brings a hands-on, end-to-end approach to engineering — whether optimising production codebases, integrating custom electric vehicle conversions, or developing bespoke hardware-software interfaces. Grounded in rigorous problem-solving, he focuses on building reliable, high-performance systems from the bare metal up. In his downtime, he is an active hang glider pilot.

Bill Morris is a writer and documentary filmmaker who has worked extensively with Natural History New Zealand and New Zealand Geographic magazine. He is passionate about telling stories of ancient and modern New Zealand and is excited to embrace the new technologies offered by The Future is Wild™ @ The Hillocks.

Bill Morris

Alireza's work focuses on 3D and computer graphics, with experience across games, VR, architectural visualisation, and visual effects, with Unreal Engine as his main tool. He particularly enjoys projects where technology supports ambitious visual and creative ideas, challenging him to find new ways to solve technical problems.
For The Future is Wild™ @ The Hillocks, he worked as part of the Unreal Engine team, contributing throughout the production. His role involved developing custom tools and systems, solving technical challenges, and helping bring the project's creative vision to life.

Alireza Emami

Jacob Barrow is a 3D artist and real-time developer working on the Hillocks experience, specialising in Unreal Engine, VR, visual effects and real-time production. With over 18 years of experience across film, VFX and interactive media, Jacob brings both creative and technical expertise to the project, helping develop the immersive environments, character animations and destruction simulations that bring the Hillocks experience to life.
